Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This policy explains how the developer of FoodAndStuff handles information when you use the iOS or Android app.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores information you enter locally on your device. This may include inventory items, quantities, locations, expiry dates, notes, shopping-list items, recipes, ingredients, dietary preferences, medicine schedules, document reminders, preferences, notification settings, and photos you choose or capture.

This content is not uploaded to our servers. FoodAndStuff does not provide user accounts or cloud synchronization. You can remove locally stored data using the app’s delete features or by uninstalling it. Device or operating-system backups may retain a separate copy outside the app’s control.

3. Analytics and diagnostics

Firebase Analytics on Android records an app-open event and related technical information to help us understand general app use. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash and non-fatal error reports, diagnostic logs, app version, device model, operating-system information, timestamps, and installation or session identifiers to help improve reliability.

We do not intentionally attach inventory, recipes, photos, notes, or other household content to analytics or crash reports. Google may process Firebase information under its own terms. Learn more at Privacy and Security in Firebase and in the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Device permissions

• Camera: capture item or storage photos and scan label text on-device.
• Photo library: choose images for items, recipes, or storage locations.
• Notifications: deliver expiry and medicine reminders you configure.
• Files: import, save, or share a backup at your request.

You can deny or revoke permissions in device settings. Related features may then be unavailable.

5. Backups and sharing

If you export a backup, FoodAndStuff creates a text file containing inventory, storage locations, recipes, shopping list, and settings. Photos are excluded. You decide where to save or send it using your device’s sharing controls. Protect exported backups because they may contain private household information.

6. How information is used

We use information only to provide requested features, remember on-device settings, deliver reminders, understand general Android app usage, diagnose crashes, correct errors, and improve the app. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

7. Retention

Local content remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app, subject to separate device backups. Firebase retains analytics and diagnostic information according to Google’s applicable settings and terms; Firebase states that Crashlytics begins removing crash reports and associated identifiers after 90 days.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we process, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and exported backups.

9. Children’s privacy

FoodAndStuff is a general-audience household utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Your choices and rights

You can review, edit, export, and delete app content through the app’s controls and restrict camera, photo, and notification access in device settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights. Because we do not operate user accounts, we generally cannot access or recover content stored only on your device.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will include a new effective date, and material changes may also be communicated in the app or its store listing.
